We're a travel agency again
Hannah Okoro spent eight years inside one of the biggest online travel agencies, the last few running the teams that handled airline schedule changes and cancellations. She watched the economics squeeze the human part of the job out: flights earn an agency a few dollars a ticket, so the people who fix things when flights go wrong are the first cost to cut.
Theo Marsh had spent a decade on the other side of the same system, building fare-shopping and ticketing software for a global distribution system. In May 2025 they started Farehaven in a borrowed room on Lafayette Street with a simple idea: sell the airline's own fare, charge a small flat fee that you can see, and use it to pay for people who pick up the phone, any hour, and who know the route.
We started with New York–London, the busiest long-haul route out of New York and the one Hannah has flown more times than she can count. After a five-month private beta with 1,100 travelers we opened to the public in March 2026. Since then more than 9,400 people have booked with us.
